Corine Doiron is an English Teacher at St. Joseph High School in Edmonton, Alberta. Laura Dempsey is a teacher-librarian at James Bay Community School in Victoria, BC. This inner-city school serves 170 students from Kindergarten to grade 5. The library is an open and inviting space, situated next to the main entrance of the school. This is Laura's first year at the school, and first teacher-librarian position.
Kami Hodgins
Kami Hodgins is a kindergarten teacher at West Central Public School, just a short drive west of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. West Central is a small, rural elementary school with less than 100 students between kindergarten and grade eight. The school library is in the very centre of the building and is the heart of the small school. This is Kami's ninth year at the school and in that time she has had visits from llamas, fawns, pigs, skunks, lambs, kids (of the goat variety), horses, dogs, cats, snakes, frogs, bats and shrews. There is just something special about working at a rural school. :)
Vanessa Stitt
Vanessa Stitt is a grade 3/PE teacher at Holy Family Elementary School in Whitehorse, Yukon. Holy Family Elementary is a small, urban school with around 175 students in Kindergarten to grade 7. The library is located at the intersection of all three wings making it a central part of the school. Vanessa has taught at Holy Family for seven years and is a born and raised Yukoner.
